Team Training

The On-site team OSHA program meets required initial training and annual bloodborne pathogen requirements. The training covers OSHA required safety plans such as: Injury & Illness Prevention, Ergonomics, Fire, Emergency, General Office Safety, Medical Waste Disposal, Exposure Control, and the New Hazard Communication Standard.

The dental team will learn how to prevent accidents, properly manage an exposure incident, label hazardous substances, and create/maintain the office Safety Data Sheet (formerly called MSDS) manual. As part of team training, a sharps safety device evaluation and mock OSHA inspection will be conducted. Any deficiencies will be noted and written instructions for correcting will be provided. Photographs are taken for training purposes to show safety or infection control hazards.

Your OSHA and (M)SDS manuals will be reviewed for accuracy and updated. All the required record keeping forms and training documentation will be completed and collected for your files.

After team training, I will spend time as needed to train the dentist and/or designated OSHA coordinator on how to keep the practice OSHA compliant going forward. I'll provide a written Mock OSHA Inspection report listing any areas of non compliance and information on how to correct. You'll have step by step guidance on OSHA compliance and instructions on "who does what". Plus you'll understand how to conduct your own OSHA training whether it is the annual bloodborne training or new employee training.

I won't just train you and then leave. Your OSHA program includes access to me for one year of telephone support, and includes:

  • OSHA training, consultation, and mock inspection
  • One year of Telephone support
  • Binder with New Employee/Annual Training Checklist/Forms
  • Binder for Exposure Incidents
  • Signs and labels as needed
  • Continuing Education credit

To help you stay on track and compliant, I will remind you when you are due to conduct the annual OSHA training. You can conduct training yourself, attend a local OSHA seminar, use home study courses or webinars to fulfill the training requirement. And if you prefer, I can come back to conduct your team training.

I also offer:

  • One on One Train the Trainer Programs
  • Telephone Coaching for the dentist or OSHA Coordinator
  • Webinars

Do you know if your practice is fully compliant with OSHA, HIPAA and Dental Board Regulations?

Are you facing an OSHA, Insurance Company, or Dental Board Audit? Or are you just looking for confirmation that you're already in high compliance?

Regulations change, what was compliant just a few years ago falls short of compliance today. If you haven't updated training, written plans, and documentation, you could face costly citations and fines.

Full Comprehensive Compliance Audit

We'll help you recognize potential violations and provide you with clear action steps on how to correct. The Comprehensive Compliance Audit starts with a full inspection of the entire clinical area. We make sure all OSHA and Dental Board requirements have been are met. Next, the administrative area is evaluated including all required record keeping forms, documentation, manuals, SDS pages, and proper signage. Finally the dental facility itself will be evaluated to uncover any potential safety hazards.

I'll point out my findings and assist you in correcting problem areas as we go through your practice. Signs, labels, and documentation will be provided as needed. If there are extensive corrections, you'll have a checklist of what steps to take. By the end of the Audit, you'll have a written report of my findings, recommendations, and marching orders (who does what). Plus you'll have 1 year of telephone support to make sure you complete all tasks successfully.

Please allow half to a full day for myself, the office manager, compliance officer, and/or dentist to conduct the full Comprehensive Audit. The Full Comprehensive Audit reduces stress, saves time, and protects your practice.

Interested in an OSHA-Focused Assessment?

Need an OSHA Assessment to confirm OSHA compliance? Facing an OSHA inspection due to a recent employee accident or termination? Already highly compliant but need reassurance? The solution for your protection is an OSHA Focused Assessment. Together we'll walk through your practice and identify OSHA violations that can lead to accidents, injuries, or OSHA citations.

Our OSHA Assessment is a walk through overview focused on OSHA compliance. We'll help you recognize gaps in compliance and provide guidance on exactly how to correct. Following the OSHA Assessment, you'll have a written report of the findings, recommendations, and marching orders (who does what). We won't abandon you after our OSHA Assessment, you'll have 1 year of telephone support to make sure you complete all tasks successfully and understand how to stay compliant.

Avoid costly OSHA fines and aggravating citations Confirm that your practice meets OSHA requirements for dentistry. Dental team members who work in a safe and compliant practice are more productive and confident.

Allow 2 hours for myself, the OSHA Coordinator and/or Dentist.

If you'd like to receive editable versions of the protocols for Instrument Processing, Operatory cleanliness, and the Management of Injuries (exposure incident), simply enter your name and email at left.

You'll receive the files in Microsoft Word document format so you can personalize them for your office. The written protocol for exposure incidents meets OSHA requirements and helps to expedite prompt medical care so don't change the wording of this protocol too much when you personalize it. You will also receive a copy of the new Infection Control regulations to post in your office.

The Dental Board requires you to periodically update the protocols, so keep these documents on file as a template for future updates.

If you'd like further assistance in complying with California regulations, contact me about training webinars, remote training, or on-site training for your staff.
